Wearing the birthstone associated with your date of birth is thought to bring good luck and protection, and is a tradition that can be traced back over several centuries. There are many versions of birthstone charts, both modern and traditional, therefore I have compiled a list of the twelve most commonly used birthstones and a few accepted alternatives. In modern times, birthstone jewellery is a popular keepsake gift for Christenings, Baptisms, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, or just a special keepsake.
My birthstone jewellery designs are all individually handmade to your requirements. I will only use the finest quality natural gemstones (not dyed) or genuine Swarovski crystal. Fittings are all Sterling silver or 9k gold. I can make the jewellery to fit any size, from new baby to large adult. Sterling silver letter beads
Name bracelets/necklaces are an ideal gift for Christenings or birthdays, or as a keepsake for mothers and grandmothers. Each sterling silver letter bead is priced at £2.00 each and is available in 6mm size. Letter beads can be added to both natural birthstone (not recommended for smaller precious stones) and Swarovski pieces. Please contact me (form above) for a quote.
Sterling silver charms
To complete your piece of jewellery, why not add a cute sterling silver charm in a cross, heart, teddy, flower or butterfly design? Charms costs £2.00 each. Script style initial charms can also added, priced at £3.50 each.
Simple or ornate?
For simple designs I usually use small sterling silver/gold round beads between each birthstone (please see the pearl Christening bracelet as an example). If you require a more ornate or chunky design I can add Bali or Thai silver beads to give the piece more body (please see the Mother's/Grandmother's bracelet).
